About 170,000 doses of A/H1N1 flu vaccine are being withdrawn in Canada from Friday after health officials reported an unusually high number of allergic reactions.
Health officials in the western province of Manitoba reported Thursday a higher-than-usual number of allergic reactions after using vaccine from a batch manufactured by a factory of British drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in Quebec.
Usually one or two allergic reactions are expected for a batch of that size, but Manitoba has recorded six severe allergic reactions.

Augusta-area hospitals are coming together to put out local information on the influenza A H1N1 virus pandemic, and they're doing it on the Web.
After some tinkering, the G-Line Web site is ready for public viewing, said webmaster James Wilde, an associate professor of pediatric emergency medicine at the Medical College of Georgia and a member of the MCG and statewide pandemic flu planning task forces.

Swine flu activity declined slightly last week, with only 43 states reporting widespread activity, compared with 46 states the week before, officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Friday.
Even though levels have declined, they still are "higher than peak activity in many years," said Anne Schuchat, director of the CDC's National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases.
Officials fear, moreover, that flu activity will pick up as people travel around the country for Thanksgiving and the holiday season.

Rising oil prices and increased exports are slowly dragging Mexico's economy out of a severe recession, but the nation's financial system still confronts fundamental challenges, national leaders and experts say.
"We are expecting in 2010 the Mexican economy will grow by around 3 percent," said Deputy Finance Minister Alejandro Werner, a huge improvement from a 7.5 percent contraction in 2009.
The Mexican government released figures Friday that showed the economy grew 2.9 percent in the third quarter over the previous three-month period.

I would like to share you all my secret how I protect my kids against swine flu...I use this product called pure Green 24 6 mos or so ago a friend of mine give me a sample of this product she told me the story how her fiancee did not get the swine flu when he was sitting next to a passenger on a plane that had the virus, most of the passenger was quarantine in Hong Kong and 25 others got infected except for his fiancee,why? because before he went on board he uses to spray pure green all over his body specially on hand and on the nose(nostril), now I been using this for my self and my kids everyday a couple days my kids came home and told me a story that most of the kids in class are sick and parents still keep sending kids to school even if they are sick because school are allowing kids to attend school even if they're sick as long as they are free of fever within 24 hours.. the fact that they don't know about germs can spread when a person is coughing or sneezing you don't have to have a fever to spread germs, so parents protect your kids like I do....
